Our bundle provides the perfect natural solution for infestations and will help you to keep your lawns, potted plants and gardens healthy throughout the gardening season.
All of our nematodes are safe to humans, pets and wildlife.
Dragonfli Slug Killer Nematodes (Phasmarhabditis sp.) are minute worm-like nematodes, approximately 0.3 - 0.5mm long, and transparent in appearance. They occur naturally in soils in areas prone with molluscs and are very active when observed under microscope. The nematodes, when applied, also enter the slugs via a natural opening, then produce a natural bacterium inside the pest, which kills it.
Dragonfli Vine Weevil Killer will either contain nematodes from the Steinernema species, which are active all year round, or the Heterorhabditis bacteriophora species which are better suited to summer applications.These nematodes enter Vine Weevil larvae via a natural opening and feed on the contents of the pest. Infected larvae will be completely broken down and killed by the nematodes.
To apply all nematode packs, soil temperatures must be above 10℃ (Slug Killer Nematodes can be applied in conditions upwards from 5℃).
If soil temperatures are applicable, we recommend applying the packs across the Spring until early Autumn, whenever you sight visible grubs.

Choose a humid or wet day to apply your nematodes. Nematodes are UV-sensitive and will not survive long when exposed to bright, sunny conditions. Apply the nematodes early in the morning or early in the evening in order to utilise the optimum humidity levels. Avoid application in frosty conditions.
Individual application instructions will be supplied with your nematodes. Please refer to these leaflets but as a general guide please see the below steps:
1. First open and empty the contents of your sachet of nematodes into a bucket of water and mix thoroughly.
2. Next, fill your watering can (fit with a coarse rose), or sprayer (hand held sprayers should suffice, with filters removed, or, use the Nema Super Sprayer for optimum nematode application) with the mixed nematode concentrate.
3. Finally, spray your pot plants, garden beds or lawn with the nematode solution.
Continue to keep the application areas moist for up to 2 weeks after application. Ideally, apply a second nematode sachet application 7 days after the first. Further applications may be required for severe infestations.
You can store unopened nematode packs in a fridge but it is best to ensure you apply your nematodes as soon as possible for the best results.
This bundle contains living creatures that can be affected by any chemical pesticides used within the previous few weeks. As a general guide, refrain from using Natural Pyrethrum or SB Plant Invigorator 2 days prior to use. Other chemical insecticides can have long lasting residues that could harm the insects for much longer periods. Refrain from using these products or check with Dragonfli for information on the effect of these products on our biological controls.
