The Dragonfli Thrip Control Bundle combines traps and a combination of different predatory mites to protect your plants from attack by Thrips. Take advantage of our bundle and benefit from an overall discount. This bundle will provide you with the ultimate natural solution to your Thrip infestation and help combat larger, or multiple, areas of infestations.
The Thrip Control Bundle includes:
Thrips are the smallest winged insects, and there are about six species of Thrip that cause damage to plants in greenhouses and indoor growing. Thrips have six stages in their life cycle; egg, two larval stages, pre-pupa, pupa and adult. The larvae and the adults feed on plants. The adults are tiny, dark coloured, pencil shaped insects, often found in flowers. The larvae are often found on the leaves. The Thrip pierce plants when feeding, causing plant tissue to die. This will be evidenced by silvery scratches on leaves with tiny black marks on.
Amblyseius swirskii- 10 Sachets
Amblyseius swirskii predatory mites feed on small and larger feed Thrip larvae. The special foil sachets create the perfect environment for the predators to breed in and slowly releases the predators through a small hole in the sachet for a period of up to four weeks. This provides you with longer lasting Thrip control on your plants. Simply hang the sachets on the plants you wish to treat and the predators will begin emerging.
Amblyseius cucumeris - Bottle of 10,000
Amblyseius cucumeris predatory mites feed on the smallest Thrip larvae, quickly moving over plants to locate and consume them. A bottle application allows the predators to be shaken over leaves which enables them to disperse rapidly to seek out and kill the Thrip larvae. The cucumeris will also feed on flower pollen which allows for their introduction before the Thrip pests are visibly present. With predators on the plant at all times, the Thrip can be killed before they can take hold.
Mighty Mites - Bottle of 10,000
Macrocheles robustulus predatory mites work at the base of plants feeding on small insect larvae and pupae that they find in, or on, the growing media. Thrip pupae often fall to the base of the plant where Mighty Mite predators will locate and consume them. Ensure to only apply Mighty Mite at the base and not on the plants.
Blue Sticky Traps - Pack of 10 Traps
Dragonfli Blue Sticky Traps attract Thrips via the blue colouring and catch the adult Thrips which fly onto them. The traps utilise a strong and durable wet-stick insect glue which ensures maximum capture rates of flying Thrip pests. This helps reduce adult Thrip numbers and also helps you to monitor Thrip populations.
Dragonfli Distribution Boxes - 2 Boxes
Our distribution boxes have been designed specifically to enable easy application of natural predators. The boxes also act as a breeding site for predators, so by utilising our boxes you are boosting the number of available predators, and as such enhancing your treatment.
The Thrip bundle will provide your plants with the perfect combination of predators and traps to protect them from Thrip pests.
Further information on all of the above included products can be found by clicking on the product title links and viewing the individual product listing pages. Full application instructions are also provided for each product on delivery.
Amblyseius swirskii, Amblyseius cucumeris & Macrocheles robustulus are living creatures and can be affected by any chemical pesticides used within the previous few weeks. As a general guide, refrain from using Natural Pyrethrum or SB Plant Invigorator 2 days prior to use. Other chemical insecticides can have long lasting residues that could harm the predatory mites for much longer periods. Refrain from using these products or check with Dragonfli for information on the effect of these products on the predatory mites.
Just as you can be allergic to cats, pollen, and dust mites, it is also possible to be allergic to the natural substances in predatory mites, feeder mites, and supplementary feeding products. If you are not allergic, but come into close and prolonged contact with certain substances, you could still develop an allergy.
