Dragonfli Soil Thermometer

Measure Soil Temperatures To Predict Pest Activity

Soil Thermometers are a useful garden tool to judge soil or compost temperatures throughout the year. Knowing the temperature of your soil will ensure you are able to suspect when pests are active. Leatherjackets, for instance, can be active when overnight soil temperatures are between 6-8°C.

Ensure Your Soils Are At Optimum Temperatures For Effective Nematode Applications

These thermometers are especially useful when judging when to apply nematodes to treat and control these soil or compost borne pests. Most nematodes require a soil/compost temperature of above 10°C to be active. There is some variation between nematode species, so be sure to read the information on the relevant nematode products listed on our website.
