Amblyseius swirskii will combat various Thrip species and multiple life cycle stages of the Thrip larvae life cycle. This predator requires temperatures around 20℃ to be most effective.
Amblyseius cucumeris will also combat a variety of Thrip species but cannot tackle larger Thrip larvae, like Swirskii, but will instead combat the smaller larvae and eggs of Thrip. This predator can be active within lower temperatures, however, with activity consistent in temperatures ranging from 15-30℃.
Simply sprinkle the bottles of predators over plants, or pour them into Distribution Boxes, and hang the sachets from plant leaves or stems. Please note that new research has suggested that Amblyseius swirskii and Amblyseius cucumeris predators should not be applied in conjunction with another.
Each Dragonfli Thrip Control Bundle variant contains Mighty Mite predators which feed on Thrip pupae, as well as a range of other pests, and can be sprinkled over plant compost. Mighty Mite predators are safe to use in conjunction with both Amblyseius swirskii and Amblyseius cucumeris predators.
Thrip Traps are now included in the bundles. The traps are supplied as a set of 10 blue sticky traps, as the colouring is attractive to adult Thrips, and utilise an attractant lure which attracts male and female Thrips from multiple species.
Two Distribution Boxes are also included in the bundles. Simply pour the bottle of either the swirskii, or cucumeris, predators into the boxes and hang them from your plants for ease of application.
Take advantage of our bundle today and benefit from an overall discount of the included controls. The Dragonfli Thrip Control Bundle will provide you with the ultimate natural solution to your Thrip infestation and help combat larger, or multiple, areas of infestations.
1. Amblyseius swirskii- 10 Sachets
Amblyseius swirskii predatory mites feed on small and larger feed Thrip larvae. The special foil sachets create the perfect environment for the predators to breed in and slowly releases the predators through a small hole in the sachet for a period of up to four weeks. This provides you with longer lasting Thrip control on your plants. Simply hang the sachets on the plants you wish to treat and the predators will begin emerging.
2. Amblyseius swirskii - Bottle of 10,000
These swirskii predators are supplied in a loose carrier material for instant releaseonto infestations. Ensure the swirskii are released in identifiable hot spots of pest activity. The swirskii are supplied in shaker bottles, so you can apply the predators by rotating the bottle and gently shaking the contents directly onto the infested leaves of the plants. Alternatively, distribute them into our Distribution Boxes and hang them from your plants.
3.Mighty Mites - Bottle of 10,000
Macrocheles robustulus predatory mites work at the base of plants feeding on small insect larvae and pupae that they find in, or on, the growing media. Thrip pupae often fall to the base of the plant where Mighty Mite predators will locate and consume them. Ensure to only apply Mighty Mite at the base and not on the plants.
4. Thrip Traps & Attractant Lure - Pack of 10 Traps
Dragonfli Blue Sticky Traps attract Thrips via the blue colouring to catch adult Thrips. The traps utilise a strong and durable wet-stick insect glue which ensures maximum capture rates. This reduces adult Thrip numbers and also helps to monitor Thrip populations. The Thrip attractant lure attracts male and female adult Thrips, and increases the number of Thrips caught on the sticky traps. The lure attracts Western Flower Thrips as well as Onion Thrips.
5.Dragonfli Distribution Boxes - 2 Boxes
Our distribution boxes have been designed specifically to enable easy application of natural predators. The boxes also act as a breeding site for predators, so by utilising our boxes you are boosting the number of available predators, and as such enhancing your treatment.
1. Amblyseius cucumeris - Bottle of 10,000
Amblyseius cucumeris predatory mites feed on the smallest Thrip larvae, quickly moving over plants to locate and consume them. A bottle application allows the predators to be shaken over leaves which enables them to disperse rapidly to seek out and kill the Thrip larvae. The cucumeris will also feed on flower pollen which allows for their introduction before the Thrip pests are visibly present. With predators on the plant at all times, the Thrip can be killed before they can take hold.
2. Amblyseius cucumeris - 10 Sachets
These cucumeris predators are supplied in sachet format to enable gradual release for 3-4 weeks. This provides you with longer lasting Thrip control on your plants. Simply hang the sachets on the plants you wish to treat and the predators will begin emerging. It is recommended that you have an active sachet on your plants at all times, from propagation to full growth to protect from any new Thrip infestations.
3. Mighty Mites - Bottle of 10,000

5.Dragonfli Distribution Boxes - 2 Boxes
Amblyseius swirskii, Amblyseius cucumeris & Macrocheles robustulus are living creatures and can be affected by any chemical pesticides used within the previous few weeks. As a general guide, refrain from using Natural Pyrethrum or SB Plant Invigorator 2 days prior to use. Other chemical insecticides can have long lasting residues that could harm the predatory mites for much longer periods. Refrain from using these products or check with Dragonfli for information on the effect of these products on the predatory mites.
Just as you can be allergic to cats, pollen, and dust mites, it is also possible to be allergic to the natural substances in predatory mites, feeder mites, and supplementary feeding products. If you are particularly allergy prone and concerned about the potential effects of our mites please contact your local GP prior to purchase. Please note that allergic reactions to our mites are extremely rare.
