Really pleased with these, have helped stop the badgers for now. Fingers crossed.
Thoroughly recommend as a way to deal with clothes moths, worth getting them for a few months to get on top of the cycle.
These do really work, and it's great that rather than replacing the entire sticky trap you can just replace the lure. I only knocked off one star as another brand of sticky trap definitely attracted more moths, but these are still very effective.
everything about the Box tree lure is easy. Easy to Assemble, easy to see the number of moths. Makes tracking the little blighters easier
I am very pleased with the success I have had with the Box Pheromone traps . I have caught many moths very quickly. I feel it is more successful than the Nematodes as at least you can see the results, also since we went on a hoze pipe ban a more viable solution
Prefer to use these than chemicals although all the available ones suffer in the summer greenhouse conditions of around 30c and low humidity such as 40-50% rh
It would be great if you could provide us with a more a suitable alternative!
...power to the nematodes. They have saved my box trees this year.
I'm noticing a big reduction in moths. Will continue using.
Just trying to catch moths or spray them just really was not working. I noticed the difference with Drafonfli soon afterwards. One more sachet will probably do the trick
Seems to have done the trick, Jo more gnats buzzing about my plants. Will follow guidelines and repeat the process in 4 weeks time to ensure the treatment remains successful.
Sorry to say, the curative system didn't work. The cucumbers were in a greenhouse on my allotment. I sprayed with water once a day and watered the paving. It was all I could do. I read your instructions about the moisture levels but there was a heat wave and I live two miles from my allotment. I took all the plants out after two weeks. Some growing tips were absolutely covered in mites.
After using these I can't see anymore spider mites. It can be hard to see the beneficial mites so I was worried none had come out. But the spider mites are gone so it looks like they have done their job!
The traps and wasps combined seem to be keeping the moths at bay!
This is my second batch of moth killer sachets, within hours I saw the tiny wasps emergency and over the summer I'm seeing significantly less moths. Worth noting the first batch did not perform as expected unfortunately whilst our home is warm (we have underfloor heating) I believe the cooler weather in transit (sub 15 degrees in winter) prevented hatching.
Still seeing moths after three months of use...
Unfortunately I've had two bad experiences in a row with the mighty mites, the majority were dead or the tub was just full of substrate. Generously Dragonfli refunded me the first batch, but they're yet to respond to my multiple attempts of contacting them this time.
First tried the nematodes last summer (2024) after my prize box plants were hit by a massive attack of the caterpillars. Followed instructions to the letter, using the Nema Super Sprayer. Found them to be totally ineffective. But persevered and used them again this season at first signs of caterpillars being present in large numbers. First treatments (two applications a week apart) applied during overcast, wet weather gave surprisingly good results with lots of dead critters identified. Second two treatments after attack later in summer during hot, sunny spell were not as effective, despite applications being left until the evening to avoid strong sunlight killing the nematodes. So have to say results were mixed but noticeably better during dull, wet weather. Fighting a losing battle. Plus point: excellent service from Dragonfli.
marked reduction in overall levels of moths
I purchased these traps even though I was informed that they are not attractive to case bearing carpet moths. This was to check whether we had clothes moths as well. Luckily nothing caught after 4 weeks, but adult moths were seen flying in the area. I also purchased the wasps and after 8 weeks have seen a reduction in the number of lava cases found round the carpet edges after dark. This did involve crawling round the floor, torch in hand!! Pity the traps don't work for these moths as well though.
Winning the war on my moths. Possibly not as fast as I thought but so good to use natural method
I bought the box moth trap and pheromone to protect my buxus. Caught loads of moths, which seemed to do the trick as no caterpillars in the six weeks that followed. Have just found some caterpillars now and the sure enough I am overdue replenishing the pheromone solution, so I'd say this is a very effective product. Will definitely buy again next year...and I won't let the treatment lapse next time!
There seem to be fewer moths but I used the sachets in a property that I'm not currently living in so I haven't monitored efficiently.
After years of using various moth killers and dichotomous earth and hoovering and hunting morning and evening we gave up and tried these. Only a few months later we have seen a dramatic decrease in the number of adults appearing. They are pricey and you'll need several months of treatment but it's worth it to actually see results!
The namatodes really didn't work at all. Within days of application in the late evening, the box plants were suffering considerable damage. The cause was probably too much sunshine which killed off the nematodes, but it is during the summer when there is a lot of sunshine that the nematodes are needed most. So sadly, during the summer months at least, I will be sticking to pesticides to deal with the box moth caterpillar.
