This Dragonfli Live Ladybird Lodge has been designed specifically as a safe release point and retreat for Ladybirds. It is a handmade, wooden lodge with a Ladybird coloured design that would suit any garden, or greenhouse. This lodge is the perfect gift for anyone wishing to have a more interactive experience with Ladybirds.
Ensure your lodge is hung securely on a wall, fence or tree, or placed in a greenhouse on a firm, flat surface. If you have opted to receive Live Ladybirds, or larvae, with your lodge, they can be released alongside the lodge whereby they may enter it via any the four elongated horizontal notches on the front.
The hinged slot to the side of the lodge can also be opened if wishing to place the Ladybirds, or larvae, directly inside the lodge. This slot also enables you to fill the inside of your lodge with rose cuttings, twigs and straw to provide a safe haven for other beneficial insects in your garden.
Once inside, the ladybirds will freely venture out of the lodge to feed on a variety of garden insect pests including Aphids.
The Ladybird Lodge has been constructed from natural and sustainable materials. The lodges are made with a mixture of pinewood. The natural wood is combined with dynamic Ladybird red colouring which makes the house a wonderful feature for gardens.
The exact measurement of the lodge in centimetres is: L 15.2 x D 11.9 x H 20
Each hotel weighs 0.560 kg.
The lodge is supplied in four separate product bundles enabling you to acquire ladybirds and ladybird larvae with the lodge. For those wishing to send the lodge as a gift, one bundle includes the lodge and a ladybird voucher which can be redeemed at any time. Our bundles offer a discounted total price to the cost of purchasing a lodge and live Ladybirds / Ladybird Gift Cards separately from Dragonfli.

Ladybirds will predominantly consume most species of Aphid, but may also feed on other soft-bodied pests such as Spider Mite and Thrip. We would, however, advise use of more specific predators in tackling these pests.
