Vine weevil is a difficult garden pest to control, due to its mobility and potential high numbers. The adults are nocturnal and can travel quite long distances. Once they have laid eggs, these quickly turn into vine weevil larvae, which feed on plant roots. It is this stage of the life cycle that is especially destructive and damaging to a wide range of plants. However their is a natural solution in the form of vine weevil killing nematodes that infect and kill vine weevil larvae. These tiny microscopic worms are supplied in Vine Weevil Killer packs, which are watered into pots and containers. They can also be used on raised beds, flower beds and borders. Vine weevil larvae are normally present in gardens in the spring and late summer.

The Vine weevil control programme supplies you with two packs of Vine weevil killer nematodes, one pack is supplied in April and one pack in September. The spring application kills the vine weevil larvae that have come through the winter. The September application kills any new vine weevil larvae that have  developed during the summer. This combination of applications greatly improves the kill rate of vine weevil larvae.

Vine weevil killing nematodes are;

  • Safe and easy to apply by watering can directly into pots and containers or flower beds
  • Harmless to pets, children and wildlife
  • Provide natural form of biological pest control
  • Leave no harmful residues
  • Highly effective at killing vine weevil larvae

Vine weevil killer nematodes are supplied in a pack of 10 million nematodes, enough to treat an area of 20 square metres or up to 200 x 30cm pots. A great value pack size.

The Vine weevil killer programme will automatically send out your Vine weevil killer packs in April and September.
